The Ministry of Educational Transformation is expanding the National Numeracy Initiative to strengthen Mathematics learning from early childhood through primary school. The programme provides multi-sensory resources, trains over 250 teachers, establishes school-based Mathematics Learning Communities, and implements diagnostic assessments to guide interventions. Master and Peripatetic teachers will offer in-school coaching, while parents and communities will be engaged through practical workshops. Summer Learning Pods will support at-risk students, and new Mathematics Resource Centres will enhance access to teaching materials.
At the secondary level, the ministry is partnering with the Commonwealth of Learning for the Advancing Caribbean Teachers (ACT) mathematics initiative to support lower-secondary Mathematics teachers through blended training, concluding in June 2026. The aim of the programme is to improve instructional quality and student outcomes.
